Table Lamp
Enameled “feathers” attached to 0.6 mm shaped music wires, float around under the half-chrome bulb. I wanted this piece to be “light” as a feather, and move with the slightest wind, reflect the light from the bulb as well as project the colors through the transparent enamel.
Bruno de Abreu-Grizzo, a multidisciplinary artist, is a Brazilian native who lives and works in New York City. Received a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and began his career as a fashion designer working for Lanvin in Paris and Calvin Klein in NY. He launched his eponymous clothing label in 2006, for which he won two Gen Art awards.
In 2010, his interests migrated from fashion design to illustration and animation, leading him to set up a multi-media advertising studio while pursuing his interests in ceramics, metal-smith work, and enamel in 2015, marking the start of his full-time art practice.
Most recently, his work have been included in a group Show at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Pittsburgh in June of 2023, Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery in NYC and Galleria Luisa Delle Piane in Milan.
