This is an exclusive preview of the Chant Table Lamp in a new smoked glass finish. The Chant Table Lamp is a hand-blown glass portable lamp that blends sculptural form with practical function. Its design draws from the architectural glass blocks of both the late 1920s Parisian Maison de Verre and 1970s modernist buildings, resulting in a bold square shape softened by an indented circular motif on each side. Available in frosted or clear glass, the lamp sits on a brushed-metal base offered in gold, silver, or bronze, bringing a contemporary, tactile quality to any space. Fully weather-resistant and battery-powered, Chant moves effortlessly between indoor and outdoor settings, providing up to 80 hours of light on its lowest setting. With four dimming levels, it adapts to a variety of moods and environments. Made of hand-blown glass, the Chant Table Lamp elevates portable lighting, combining durability and craftsmanship in a single, geometric object that balances nostalgia and modernism.
Chant was inspired by architectural glass blocks from the 1970s which I’ve always been drawn to, especially those at the Maison de Verre in Paris. I wanted to take that strong, cubic form and turn it into something softer and more atmospheric, so the hand-blown glass includes a circular indentation that diffuses the light. It was important for me to use glass and metal, both for the weight they give the piece and for their longevity. This version of Chant is portable and able to be used anywhere, indoors or outdoors, so its fully weather resistant, ready to adapt to whatever space you place it in. With the new smoked glass edition, I wanted to bring another layer of warmth and atmosphere. The smoked finish adds a retro feeling and also acts to highlight the sculptural quality of the piece.
