Floor lamp with indigenous
What makes New York special to me is its combination of cultures. People come here from all over the world carrying their histories, ambitions, and ways of seeing, all in search of something greater. In that process, we are changed. The city sharpens us, expands our perspective, and transforms how we move through the world, while still leaving traces of where we come from.
This piece is my tribute to that condition. By combining traditional Indigenous textiles from my Colombian culture with a more industrial design language shaped by New York, I use light as a bridge between my roots and this city, between craft and modern manufacturing, between memory and transformation.
It reflects the space between who we were and who we become, honoring the way culture continues to live, shift, and glow within new contexts.
