Underground Hitchhiker celebrates New York’s everyday choreography above and below ground.
Drawing on the city’s diversity and the systems that connect us—elevators, ramps, and rails—it spotlights inclusion and movement as acts of community. A bold, graphic language turns the subway’s hustle into a shared ode to access, energy, and belonging.
Fandy Wu is a NYC-based designer from Taiwan and an AI video artist whose work bridges storytelling, technology, and emotion. Specializing in AI film and motion design, she explores how emerging tools can reveal human authenticity and poetic imperfection.
Originally focused on creating posters and highly visual graphic work, She shifted her practice toward AI filmmaking with the rise of new creative technologies. Her recent achievements include winning first place at the Machine Cinema × Hypernatural AI Film Competition and producing a story-driven product video for the health tech startup Nightingale MD, which was presented at the White House. She currently works with Suno AI as a Music Video Creator, developing AI-driven visual storytelling for a global audience, and with Cantina AI as a Social Media Content Creator and Strategist—a company founded by Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster and former president of Facebook. While pursuing her M.A. in Communication Design at Pratt Institute, Fandy is set to graduate in May 2026.
Fandy’s projects have been featured in Canvas Rebel interviews, and it is her honor to be recognized in NYCxDESIGN’s “Ode to NYC” exhibition, where her poster Graffiti Gospel is showcased. While her main practice now centers on AI film and motion design, she found joy in returning to print for this project—creating a tactile, graphic love letter to the city that continues to inspire her.
